Sunday, September 12 & 19, 7pm: Keer Tanchak's oil on aluminum paintings regard Watteau, Fragonard, Chardin and gang with a wry, contemporary eye. The translation of the Fête Galante to modern times raises questions of surface and depth in the way we live our lives – are we living the idle lifestyle of a new aristocracy? This is reflected in Tanchak's confident and playful brushwork that, on a metal ground, can't not be about sheen and transparency.

Comments and Inquiries:
The Salon Series was inspired by the fashionable gatherings of 17th century as well as post-war Paris. Intellectuals, artists and social luminaries would gather to discuss topics of culture, politics and art. Motivated by the recession and our digital age, The Salon Series continues that creative legacy of exchanging ideas while providing artists with a venue to share and converse about their work. The result is a lively and engaging discussion about art, wine and more over a great meal with interesting people.
Each Salon seats up to forty people and includes a three-course, passed dinner with wine pairings followed by a forum led by the artist and moderated by John Coyle Steinbrunner. Dinners are held at The Bluebird on Sundays at 7pm.
